River Styx
Inspired by Hades: God of the Underworld
and the journey of souls into his realm

Styx was one of the five rivers of the Underworld. It is said to be the dividing body of water between the Realm of the Living and the Realm of the Dead. Charon was a ferryman who would receive the souls (called shades) and row them across the river to be delivered to their resting place.
Aqua-colored swirls mix with mysterious purple to symbolize the river meandering through the Underworld. Streaks of shimmering brown represent the Shades that are making their descent.
